My old school is on TV!

Mike just turned the TV on and there was some or other educational kid's program on. Then I saw it's about a bunch of people that go exploring South Africa, and this episode they happened to be visiting the town I live in... and they're visiting a school. Guess which one? The one I was at :P

It was kind of interesting. Not that I recognized anyone - it's all a bunch of students I've never seen in my life before. There were only about 5 of them featured on the TV program. No teachers anywhere to be seen either.

The amusing part is, the school has it's OWN building now. When I was there, they were sharing the top floor of a shopping area with some other people. So I guess that means they're doing well financially (either that or they got a lucky donation).

I checked the school's website and read the news section - it stated there that the people from the TV program chose which students to feature based on some or other questionnaire thingy (there goes my theory of hand-picked model students chosen by Kler or the Big Cheeze, although I'm pretty sure they probably dedicated at least a few periods' worth of time to making sure students answered in "acceptable" ways).

What next? They get in the Guinness Book of Records? :P

The UK Government plans to raise the school leaving age from 16 - 18 years old by 2015. Sign this petition to help stop them from doing so.
