Arkansas Schools Consider 4 Day School Week

Instead of going green or using more fuel efficient buses two Arkansas school districts may go a different route to save money and the environment.

The Mansfield and Hartford districts are considering cutting back classes from 5 days a week to 4.

Students aren't getting off that easy though. The adjusted schedule would make the school day longer.

The school districts are trying to balance future budgets.

They could either cut back on programs and staff or cut back the school week.

School officials say they could save anywhere from 10%-15% because they'll cut back on gas and electricity.
