Next they won't allow seeing each other in the hallway. It's like no one knows basic human nature anymore.
WTF?! Hugs and high-fives banned? What's next, banning existence?!
Will it be like this?
Kid with learning disability: Hey, I finally got an "A" on that test!
Best Friend: Awesome!!! High-five!!! (SMACK)
Principal: I saw that, your both expelled!!!!!
Pretty much, Yeah.
Talk about an over-reaction. And, on top of that, it's not addressing the true issue! This is the work of a truly LAZY principal. If the principal TRULY wanted to help ensure students' safety, then he/she should appeal to parents to come in and be volunteers to watch for bullying behavior, violence, etc.
It is a well-known fact that physical contact in combination with praise/positive words only helps to reinforce the positive. Hugs and high-fives are POSITIVE contact. Slapping someone across the face is NEGATIVE contact. A boy smacking a girl on the rear can be a NEGATIVE contact.
Hugs should'nt be banned at school, that's total bullshiz.
i understand hugs ( witch is very dumb) but high fives? really, schools these days..
my school banned those animal silly band bracelets and I got in trouble for holding hangs with my
boyfriend after school hours. I think some schools just over re-act way to much. Let us teens be teens..
Really? Hugs? High-fives?!? Soon they're going to make sure we stay a foot away From each other. They are soo over-reacting.
Just WALK OUT of school as I did!!! I ain't worth going. You can get educated anytiime, anywhere, college is tons better than K-12. I quit after 9th grade as school is a prison full of stupid kids, teachers, drugs, guns and stupid rules. Too much STRESS, little freedom and boredom, depression and suicides.
Is it WORTH IT? HELL NO!!! I WONT GO...and YOU should not either. Dont have to put up with that crap.
My school doesn't allow hugging, only, get this, they call it "Public display of Affection"! WTF!!!

Thiat is... just plain wrong. What if your friend was depressed and crying and you wanted to cofort her, and you got expelled for hugging her???What is your BFF was moving and you may never see her again?? I might not go to 7th grade, instead, go to a monditary school.
yea that doesnt make sense no sense at all
it happens at my school but once I saw two girls hugging in front of the teachers(they did not get in trouble ) also when I was receiving an academic honor I hugged the teacher for photo (the principle was look did not getting trouble) I guess the teacher's know how ludicrous this is
