Role of sex education among adolescents stressed
MANGALORE: "Sex education should be an integral part of every individual from birth to death irrespective of age as it deals with various aspects of human development including the thinking pattern and behaviour of an individual," said well known gynaecologist Dr Padmini Prasad.
Addressing the gathering at the one-day workshop as a part of the "Yuva Sapthaha - 2006," jointly organised by the Mangalore University NSS and St Agnes College on Sunday, she said that the mental attitude of people that sex education pertains only to sexual behaviour is still prevalent since generations.
She said that there are a lot of phobias, misconceptions and myths about sex education, which needs to be tackled and overcome.
