RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Since Columbine....

if a principal wants to make a dumb security rule, they just need to say 'Columbine' 50 times
you've got to murder your 2nd amendment rights or get arrested
you can get suspended for a wordless threatless picture of a gun you drew

I will update the list every so often.

i know, on a global scale you just have to say "terrorism" to shred the constitution and in school the magic word is "columbine."

I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

*sigh* The sad part is scare tactics like this work on the majority of people, proving that most are indeed reatards.

No, they're just conformist. People like to go with the crowd, it's human nature.

My mom was watching Dr. Phil (I know, shut the fuck up) and it was on Columbine and shit.
And I said he was retarded as fuck because he was blaming the kids and saying shit like "What characteristics can you find in these people?" and dumbass shit like that, as if doing this and this makes you a dumbass kid who shoots up schools.
And my mom was agreeing with every single word Noo
But then I said how it was all the Educational System's fault, and she disagreed adn started yelling at me (which is one of the things I hate about my mom, I can't have a nice debate with her, without her yelling at me)
She said that it's because they're all "sick" and other retarded shit like and such.
Ofcourse, in defense of my previous argument I gave her an example of this one shooting that happened a few towns from where I lived, some boy got a full adult sentence for shooting his principal.
1. He shot his principal because he wouldn't listen let alone do anything to stop him from being antagonized by kids at the school
2. He's 16 and got an adult sentence.
But she's arrogant, so... anyone else like to add?

Well, why are they sick.
Kids aren't meant to be dragooned into doing these things. Once they hit puberty they might as well be treated and given the rights of an adult to leave school. Their body says they are an adult but school denies them the rights adults have.

What do some kids, that probably weren't right in the first place do? They resort to violence. Not saying it is right to kill people, and I'm not saying that ultimately it wasn't their decision to kill somebody. I'm saying that if kids weren't forced to go to school none of this would happen.

Yeah my parents are idiots too. I always get the "you'll understand when you're older" excuse just because I am winning the arguement.

My mom says the same bullshit to me but the only reason she listens about the bullying is because it happened to me..

I was watching this show about a guy saying traits of pyscopaths and it pissed me off that he relyed on stereotypes and people call this moron a expert.

Amen. I can totally understand people who get angry at idiots treating them like shit every day, and then still being forced to go to school to be around them for 6 hours every day. I can totally understand how some people would just snap and go postal... I can't really blame them. Sure, they still did it, but if they saw any other alternative, they probably wouldn't have done it.

Maybe if schools taught tolerance > algebra than stuff liek this wouldn't happen nearly as often.

And i know this will sound corny but th media is a problem to, w/ the 'jocks' and the 'cheerleadtrs' being the coolest.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

If they "teach" tolerance the same way they teach algebra, I can only see things getting worse....

The best book regarding columbine, in my opinion anyways, is brook browns' book in which he pretty much sets things straight (he was a friend of harris and klelbold)

Today in math

Thought this would go along with it just to show how lax laws were compaired to now. This is a first hand account from my math teacher
Mr. Zyrd Wrote:Back in the 80's... before this zero tolerance bullshit.... It was my senior year and I had an awsome science class and the teacher was a riot too. There was this one kid in my class though that was just an idiot. Allways acting up and fucking around with stuff he shouldnt be. So one day hes screwing around with some potassium and water. The teacher sees him and goes red in the face and says "Thats it. Im going to kill you." and calmly reaches into his drawer and pulls out a gun. He aims, and fires four times at the student. Well needless to say the entire class starts freaking out. It turns out it was a starter gun loaded with blanks. The kid shit himself and after everyones heart stoped racing faster than light we all procedded to laugh. The teacher didnt even get in trouble. I can safly say that was the funniest moment in my life. Now that teacher would have been picked up by police the second it happened and imprissoned.

Just thought that was an interesting story that fit in rather well with how things have changed

Whilst some work diligently there are those who ask why. I am one of them
