Parents must notify the local school board in writing of their intent to homeschool their child when their child stops attending public school and by September 1st each subsequent year. This letter should include contact information as well as the names and ages of their child(ren), and be signed by the parent(s).

Permission from the school board is not required, but students must be "receiving satisfactory instruction at home or elsewhere".
