IRC Help & Instructions
What is IRC?
"The IRC network is a virtual meeting place where people from all over the world can meet and talk."I copied that from mIRC's help file. mIRC is one of the best IRC programs you can use (download it here).
How do I get to #anti-school?
You can try clicking this link. If that doesn't work, follow the instructions below. These instructions are for mIRC. If you're using something else, you probably know how it works, eh? ;)
- Start up mIRC. (duh)
- Go to Tools-Options-Connect and set yourself up a nickname. Enter whatever junk you want in the others.
- Type /server irc.rizon.org in the little chat bar at the bottom of the screen.
- After that, type /join #anti-school to join the channel.
- Use the same little bar to talk, say Hi or something ;)
Webchat
If you can't be bothered with mIRC or anything else, you could always just use the webchat page (instructions included). It requires that you have Java installed on your computer though.More Advanced Stuff (optional)
If you use the chat room often, I'd recommend using mIRC (or any decent client) instead of the webchat. That way you can leave it running all the time and be in the chat all day if you like (as long as it's your own computer). If you do that, you can register your nickname so that only you can use it. It will also allow me to add you to the auto-op list, so that you can change the topic and op other people (or kick them, but that's normally not necessary). How to register your nick
Make sure your current nick is the one you want to register (type /nick YourName to change it if you need to).To register your nick, type /msg nickserv register password email and then wait for the confirmation email sent to the address you entered.
