Teacher's bad day paints bigger picture
As Darlene Hamilton tells the story, it was a very bad day. A regular substitute teacher at Walter Johnson High School in Montgomery County, Md., she was running a small class for students with disabilities late last year. I am going to recount many details about this day and its aftermath. It may seem a small, isolated incident. The story goes to the heart of why so many good people have left the teaching profession.
