10-yr-old commits suicide after parental ban on computer games
A 10-year-old school boy committed suicide by jumping from his 19th floor apartment here after his parents banned him from playing computer games.
Andrei Smirnov, a class three student, jumped to his death yesterday after receiving the wrath of his parents due to bad conduct in school and a poor performance in studies.
The boy's class teacher had written remarks about his bad conduct in the school diary which he had tried to erase to escape the wrath of his parents, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid.
Angered by the teacher's remarks and their son's attempt to deceive them, Andrei's parents banned him from playing games on his computer.
Local experts here have expressed concern over the unhealthy dependence of children on computers.
According to Director of Centre for Legal Psychological Assistance Mikhail Vinogradov, children who are banned from using their computers could easily resort to suicide, since they do not realise the consequences of taking the extreme step.

Yes, that's right, blame the games. Ignore everything else.

Pfft. Exactly. No no, the kid is to blame. They always are. They have no rights. End of story. :)
WRATH..SUICIDE..PARENTS...HMMMM YEP IT WAS THE GAMES
Yep blame the video games.
omg, i think i might have just about lost all my faith in humanity after reading this
Blame the games. Ignore everything else. This seriously is starting to make me want to make me declare idependency, and start my own country. :-) But seriously, soceity is crappy.
Darthmat: Took you long enough :P
Damn. That'll teach parents to stop keeping computers from their children, oh wait...
the games are to blame. sure. lets forget, that most people live to see the next day becuase of the internet.
another excuse to blame the games! mabye that kid wanted to commit suicide so therell be another excuse to blame the awsome games!! (probobly not though) he could be suffering from a mental disorder or have depression issues...
NAW i bet that he had major family and social problems and they had just used the games as an exscuse. or maybe he had so many problems and when he got his games taken away...which might have ben his only escape... he just CRACKED!! sad story, 10 YEAR OLD!! thats crazy fo real
The media makes everything seem so bad. It's like Columbine. They blamed Marilyn Manson they didn't listen to his music. The blamed DOOM. They blamed there clothes. THEY DIDN'T even consider the fact that Eric was a clinical psychopath and Dylan had SEVERE depression. This is shit. Pure shit. I remember in middle school my parents expected straight A's nothing less. If I got a B it was my computers fault. The world is so hateful of teens that I can't even begin. Remember the post-Columbine craze? A girl had to strip in public for a wearing a black rain coat. MCR's song "Teenagers" fits this site very well.
