Texas boy, 13, sentenced to 15 years in prison
WACO, Texas -- A 13-year-old boy who admitted stabbing a teenage friend to death earlier this summer has received a 15-year sentence as part of a plea agreement.
State District Judge Alan Mayfield accepted the plea agreement Monday after rejecting a 10-year proposal earlier this month. The boy was 12 at the time of the June 6 stabbing.
Authorities said the boy, whose name is not being released because of his age, stabbed 14-year-old Keith Dancer in the heart with a steak knife during a dispute.
Mayfield told the youth that if he continues to show good behavior, he could be released on parole in three years.

I think jail won't help reform him, someone who stabs a friend is likely to have serious mental issues that jail might only aggravate.
... Yeah. He's gonna be even more fucked up when he gets out.
As the people below/above (not sure how it works here) said, prison is only going to make him crazier. Not to mention prisons are modern slavery. They lump people who do victimless "crimes" in the same room as dangerous killers and rapists, and generally, rather then rehabilitating criminals, make them worse than they were before they went in.
The shit?
lawl
Anyway, If some kills someone else, of course they should be arrested, but problem is, the prison system is a bust.
(P.s. the "lawl" was for something else, not the story itself.
this kid is likely to have serious mental issues. i hate to think what prison might do to him. although i admit it is horrible that he killed somone.
Well, at least he'll have been prepared after 10 years of government indoctrination.
Sigh, this world is getting pretty bad. I feel sorry for both the boy and his former friend. He needs help, not the cooler.
