UK: Secondary school destroyed in sudden blaze
A 1000-pupil secondary school has been all but destroyed after fire ripped through its building in the early hours of this morning.
Fourteen separate fire tenders fought the raging blaze at Penyrheol Comprehensive School, near Swansea, south Wales, at its height.
Water from a leisure centre swimming pool on the school campus was used to douse the flames and bring the blaze under control.
But its science block and business studies, history and language sections were all destroyed in the devastating blaze.
A spokesman for the Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade said the blaze broke out around 1am.
He said the main three storey teaching and admin block at the school had been completely destroyed in the blaze.
"A fire investigation is underway and members of the public are urged to keep away from the scene for health and safety reasons."
Bruce Jones, deputy head at the school, said: "This is bad not just for the pupils and staff but the whole community.
"It is heart-breaking for the staff and pupils to see their work destroyed in this way."

As if, I wouldn't be sad if my school burned down, and who gies a damn about the work. Heck the community was probably better off with out that school.
My fathers old high school burned down once. He said it freaked him out becasue the night before he had gone to bed wishing that the school would burn down.
I wish my school would burn down or the chemistry lab would explode or something similar every day of my school life. I'd have no regrets if my hopes and dreams of that were to influence actual events, in fact I'd be immensely happy.
It flooded a few weeks ago, like half the computers were wrecked and our lessons were disrupted, my teachers weren't happy when I openly laughed at the events. xD
