Colo. teen arrested in high school threat charged

A teen who was arrested in a potential threat against his western Colorado high school is accused of trying to acquire explosives.

Mesa County district attorney Pete Hautzinger says 18-year-old Robert Dell Johnson appeared in court on Thursday to face a felony charge of solicitation to commit possession of an explosive or incendiary device.

Johnson was also charged with interfering with staff or students at a school, a misdemeanor. He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.

His attorney, Stacie Nelson Colling, declined to comment.

He's accused of plotting an attack at Palisade High School. No details about the potential threat have been released.

Documents in the case have been sealed since his arrest last week.
