UK: Mother tagged for truanting child

A mother has been electronically tagged after allowing her 15-year-old daughter to repeatedly skip school.

Carol Horne, of Crowthorne, Berks, was placed under a two-month curfew after her daughter missed more than half of lessons in the summer term of 2005.

It is the sixth time the 42-year-old from Pinefields Close has been before magistrates since 1996 for failing to make the girl go to school.

She was previously imprisoned for the offence and has received four fines.
